Friends of Pakistan Link Organize Interfaith Iftar Dinner

 

The Friends of Pakistan Link (FOPL) recently organized a truly remarkable event: an interfaith iftar dinner that brought together members of different faiths and communities in a spirit of solidarity and mutual respect.

We were honored to have in attendance several faith leaders, including Mohammad Khan, Sandy from the Latter-day Saint Church, and Dr T., as well as Los Angeles Deputy District attorney Jon Hatami. We were especially grateful to have as our chief guest the Consul General of Pakistan, Asim Ali Khan, who shared inspiring words about the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation.

The evening was filled with meaningful speeches and thoughtful reflections from Chairman FOPL Arif Mansuri, President FOPL Jamal Khawaja, FOPL directors Rohida Khan, Kamal Zafar, and Samin Faruqui, as well as FOPL executive board members Abida Ahmed and Darakhshan Malik. We were also honored to hear from several distinguished guests, including Dogana President Saima Faiz, Pakistan American Chamber of Commerce President Fawad Ismail, and Urdu Writers Society President Irfan Murtaza, as well as NEDAASC President Mansor Khan.

Malaika Jamal Khawaja and Alina Ahmed, both members of our youth group, skillfully served as emcees and did an outstanding job in conducting the event with grace and professionalism.

Overall, it was a great interfaith program that promoted solidarity and fostered understanding between different communities. We are proud to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community, and we look forward to many more events like this one in the future.
