Join Malala for LA Screenings of Stranger at the Gate By Sue Obeidi Director, Hollywood Bureau, MPAC We’re excited to announce that  Stranger at the Gate has been nominated for an Oscar in the  Best Documentary Short Film category ! MPAC President, Salam Al-Marayati and I are proud to have collaborated on the film as consulting producers. Stranger at the Gate  tells the story of an Afghan refugee family, who are members of an Indiana mosque, who came face-to-face with a US Marine with secret plans to bomb their community center. Directed by  Joshua Seftel ,  Stranger at the Gate is a story of grace, transformation, and hope.
