The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of Northern California held a protest rally in San Francisco on Saturday, June 3, 2023. It was a gathering of about 300 strong-willed and energetic local supporters of PTI plus their friends in front of the San Francisco Ferry Building. Some here traveled over 100 miles to voice their concern in favor of Imran Khan and his stand for immediate elections in Pakistan.

The keynote address was presented by Dr Shahbaz Gill who flew in from Washington DC to participate along with the PTI workers in a city where the United Nations was born. During his address, Gill went into details about the fear factor of some Pakistani Americans in traveling back home to visit their families and friends, due to intimidation and the use of excessive force by the present regime in Pakistan.

Several other speakers from among the Pakistani American and Muslim community and their friends also spoke and elaborated on the same theme about their enthusiasm to see the elections happen in Pakistan as soon as the people and the judiciary want them to take place. They said that the government under Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah has crossed all limits of basic human decency. Thousands of men women and have been detained.

The rally ended with slogans including “Who will save Pakistan? Imran Khan, Imran Khan.” And “Pakistan Zindabad.”
