Ambassador Masood Khan Suggests Sister State-Province Agreement between Texas and Pakistan

Washington, DC: Pakistan Ambassador Masood Khan has suggested a sister State-Province agreement between Texas and Pakistan for utilizing the existing potential of trade and commerce and promoting people-to-people exchanges. He made the suggestion during a meeting with Texas State Representative Salman Bhojani in Washington. Ambassador Khan congratulated Mr Bhojani on his election as a Texas Assembly Member.

The Ambassador also lauded Representative Bhojani for successfully introducing a resolution in the Assembly on Pakistan Day to highlight the close relationship and links between Pakistan and Texas in trade, energy, education, and cultural exchanges.

Rep Bhojani made national headlines when he was elected to the Euless City Council in Texas thus becoming the first person of color to hold an elected office in Euless. In 2023, Rep Bhojani was sworn in as one of the first Muslims and South Asians to serve in the Texas Legislature. He is the first person of color elected to represent House District 92.

Representative Bhojani said that he was working to bring communities together. He said that he considers all Muslims and Pakistanis living in Texas as his constituents and focuses on promoting unity and conformity among them.
