AMU Alumni Association of Northern California Announces Return of Annual Sir Syed Day Mushaira & Dinner

After a significant three-year gap due to the global pandemic, this grand event is set to unite the vibrant AMU alumni community, poetry enthusiasts, and supporters of education. The evening will showcase renowned poets from India, Pakistan, and North America.

This year's event is especially significant as it marks the 23rd Sir Syed Day celebration, a milestone in itself. To add to the grandeur, we are honored to announce Professor Yasmin Saikia, the Hardt-Nickachos Chair in Peace Studies at the Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict and a professor of history in the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies at Arizona State University, as the distinguished keynote speaker for this auspicious occasion.

Taking place at India Community Center in Milpitas, CA, this occasion on November 4th promises to be an unforgettable celebration of culture, poetry, and the spirit of giving. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the mesmerizing verses and soul-stirring performances of the featured poets, creating an atmosphere of unity and appreciation for the art form.

In addition to the enchanting Mushaira, the event will include a dinner, providing attendees with an all-encompassing sensory experience. As guests indulge in a culinary journey, they will also be supporting the Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF) through their attendance and generosity.
