

Pakistan Heritage and Resolution Day Celebrated at New York Police Department Headquarters

New York City: On March 25, 2026, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, and Pakistani Consul General to New York City Aamer Ahmed Atozai celebrated Pakistan Heritage and Resolution Day at the headquarters of the New York Police Department (NYPD). Organized by the Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society (PALS) of the NYPD, the ceremony was marked by a strong display of community pride, cultural celebration and public service.
In addition to the NYPD Deputy Police Commissioner, special guests included a large contingent of police officers and officials, Pakistani-American law enforcement personnel and their families, along with prominent members of the Pakistani-American community.
In his address, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the outstanding contributions of Pakistani-American law enforcement officers in maintaining peace and security across New York’s diverse communities and commended their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service.
Founded ten years ago, PALS has established strong ties with Pakistan. The ambassador acknowledged the group’s humanitarian initiatives in Pakistan, noting that these efforts of community policing exchanges and networking reflect a strong bond with their homeland and a deep sense of global responsibility. They are “true representatives of Pakistan who embody the values of unity, resilience, and pride in their cultural heritage,” he said.
Consul General Atozai echoed the ambassador’s remarks, also noting the role of Pakistani-American officers in strengthening community relations and upholding law and order in New York City. In addition to appreciating their efforts in promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, the consul general acknowledged their continued engagement in welfare activities both in the United States and Pakistan.
The uplifting event underscored the vital role of Pakistani Americans in law enforcement and celebrated their achievements as a bridge between communities.
