Pakistani-American Actor Kumail Nanjiani Is Joining the Fourth Season of The White Lotus
Pakistani-American comedian Kumail Nanjiani is having a moment. After presenting an award at Sunday’s Oscars, he has now been confirmed as one of the cast members for the fourth season of The White Lotus.
The show, which follows the exploits of staff and guests at a fictional resort over the course of a week, has a different cast and location for each season. The first season was set in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, the third in Thailand and the next one is to be made in a number of locations across France.
Along with Nanjiani, Max Greenfield, Chloe Bennet, Jarrad Paul and Charlie Hall have been confirmed in the latest batch of cast announcements. Cast members announced earlier include Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Dylan Ennis, Vincent Cassel, Corentin Fila and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
Details about the season’s plot and characters are under wraps for now, but fans can expect the dark comedy’s signature intrigue and mystery to permeate through this season as it has the last three.
What can also be expected, if history is any indicator, is critical acclaim. The series has accumulated a total of 68 Emmy nominations over its three-season run, with 16 wins. The series won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series for season one and Jennifer Coolidge won back-to-back Emmys for Best Supporting Actress for her role in seasons one and two.
The White Lotus is written and directed by Mike White. The fourth season is set to begin shooting later this year in Paris and locations along the French Riviera. One of the confirmed locations is the 19th-century castle Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez. - Images
